You have landed yourself on the homepage of the Canopy Piloting School. Our founder Jim Slaton helped make sport of Canopy Piloting what it is today and created the first canopy piloting school at Perris Valley Skydiving in 2000. Now the "Canopy Piloting School"  has a campus at Mile Hi Skydiving, Ground Launch Center and at Perris Valley. Our schools are accredited with the first factory swoop team (Team Extreme), the Pro Swooping Tour, the Canopy Piloting Circuit, the Canopy Piloting School, the Ground Launch Center and now the World Parabatic Stunt Team.

No matter your experience, whether you are a beginner or getting ready for your first competition we can help. Coaching programs are available for individuals who are looking to excel past their current flying ability with specific goals. Our program is for those looking to progress in all areas of canopy piloting including, but not limited to: one on one coaching, basic skills camps, competition camps and Ultra Camps. Our instructors have the experience and ability to teach all facets of canopy piloting, in the most efficient and safe atmosphere possible.

There is a new way to increase your skills, it has been called the wind tunnel  for canopy pilots. The Ground Launch Center (GLC) in Lake Isabella, CA can add a whole new dimension to your flight training. At the GLC pilots learn the fundamentals of "active piloting" where they spend more time learning flight techniques on the ground and flying closer to the ground. Unlike a typical landing where your near the ground for only a few seconds, the GLC offers a variety of slopes that allow pilots to fly in close proximity to the ground for minutes at a time! This allows for a constant reference and improves the pilot's flight inputs close to the ground.

The GLC has a variety of programs including a program for "low timer" skydivers with as few as 20 jumps and we even have a program for people with no skydiving experience at all! If your serious about canopy piloting, swooping or Bladerunning and would like to combine ground launch training with your canopy flight training (Ultra camp) please let us know.
